CPT James Frederick Sparrow was born 7 Oct 1874 in Newton, Babergh District, Suffolk, England. James and his family immigrated to Canada in 1909 with his wife Elizabeth Charlotte and their family. He enlisted Dec. 12, 1914 at Calgary, Alberta in the Canadian Army Medical Corp and was appointed to Commissioned Rank of Captain and Quarter Master. He served in France. and was mentioned in despatches by Gen. Sir Douglas Haig in 1918.
Demobilized in 1919.
