Biography

Jacobina Thomson was born in 1756 in St Monans, Fife, Scotland. ^[1]

Jacobina married James Murray (born about 1760 in Loth, Sutherland, Scotland) in Elie. ^[2]

Their sons were John Murray (1790–1867), Andrew Murray and WIlliam Thomson Murray. Their daughter was Barbara Murray.

Jacobina died in 1839 in Kilconquhar parish (Earlsferry district) at the age of 83. ^[3] Note that Jacobina's name was given as Robina on the death record. The name Jacobina had gone out of fashion by then - one of her grand-daughters was named after her but called either 'Binnie' or 'Beanie', and she also had a great-grand-daughter named Jemima, which was another version of the name. Possibly some outdated Jacobite connection.
