Marriage: While the marriage certificate indicates this couple were married on Sep 7, 1940. Other documents indicate that they were married on Sep 21, 1940. It is possible that they got legally married on the 7th and had the ceremony on the 21st.

LNAB: Most documents seem to have the last name at birth as Brothers but parents death certificates show last name as Brother.
