Biography

William J. Sweeton was the son of William Henry Yaworth and Rosetta B. Sweeton. His parents were never married; his father was married to another woman.

His mother Rosetta B. Sweeton went to prison for shooting Bob Sartain in 1909.

While his mother was in prison, Willie J. Sweeton in 1910 was a servant, age 10, in the household of John H. Tipton in Grundy County, Tennessee.^[1]

In 1920 William was living with his mother in Grundy County, Tennessee.^[2]

William married Vera Gladys McFarland 21 Aug 1920 in Grundy County, Tennessee.^[3]

Will and Vera were living in Cowan, Franklin, Tennessee in 1930. Children were William D. Sweeton age 8; Gladys Sweeton age 4 and Ralph Sweeton age 1.^[4]

They were living in Franklin County in 1940.^[5]
