A word or two about the Whitney information on the. family tree....You'll notice that I have listed. Benjamin Franklin Whitney as Cora's father. I know. his first name was Benjamin, but am not positive that. his middle name was Franklin. I got this information. from a Whitney family geneology web page that states. that Benjamin Franklin Whitney, son of John McCall. Whitney married an Olivia May in (can't remember the. year, but it fit) I am assuming that due to the. interpretation of old-fashioned handwriting a W may. have been interpreted as an "M". All other. information previous to Benjamin Whitney is based upon. this assumption.I was interested to find out that. Olivia Way was from Poughkeepsie, NY and her family. goes back to the very early Dutch settlers of NY and. the Hudson Valley. This ties in to the stories that. Cora told Mom as a young child that much of their. family background was Dutch.
