Biography

Mildred Elisabeth Ducharme, daughter of Joseph Desire Ducharme and Mary Ann (Marion) Creswell, was born on 20 October 1905 in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, United States.^[1] She was enumerated there on a farm with her parents and siblings during the 1910 and 1920 censuses.^[2][3]

Mildred never married, and lived with her parents all her life. Her mother may have died by 1930, because her father was listed on the census with a wife "Rose" who was several years younger.^[4] By 1940 her sister Madge was the only other sibling in the household, and her father was listed as married but with no wife present.^[5] In 1950 Mildred and her widowed father were alone together.^[6]

She was baptized as an adult on 19 November 1952, at St. Genevieve Church in Lafayette.^[1]

In 1955 she and her father were living at 606 North Pierce in Lafayette.^[7]

Mildred died in East Baton Rouge Parish on 7 November 1962.^[8] She was buried in Lafayette at Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery (also known as St. John Fatima Cemetery).^[9][10]

    Interment was in St. John Fatima Cemetery.

    Services were conducted by Rev. Roy Edwards, officiating at the: funeral Mass and Grave rites.
