Clarence was born on January 27, 1888, in Bristol Township, Greene County, Iowa. He was the son of Samuel Flack and Clara Merrill.
He was married to Catherine Eliza Peschken on November 28, 1914, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He died from pneumonia on February 11, 1930, in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota.
His obituary was printed in the Jefferson Herald on February 26, 1930.
Clarence E. Flack
Clarence E. Flack, second son of Samuel M. and Clara M. Flack, passed away at his home at Minneapolis on February 11, after a four-days illness of pneumonia. He was born in Bristol township Jan. 27, 1888, and was 42 years and 16 days old.
He grew to manhood and lived in this vicinity until about 16 years ago, when he went to Minneapolis, where he has been connected with the Ford Co., in whose employ he remained until the time of death.
In November, 1914, he was united in marriage to Katheryn Peshyn, of Norwood, Minn. Two children were born to this union: Russell, age 14, and Jaquelin, age 5. Besides his wife and children he leaves to mourn his loss a brother, Clifford, of Balsam Lake, Wisc: and three sisters, Mrs. Earl Maloney, of Glendale, Calif.; Mrs. Wendell Stevens and Mrs. Emory Barnes, of this city, also a host of other relatives and friends. The sisters were unable to attend the funeral.[1]
He was buried in St. John's UCC Cemetery in Bongards, Carver County, Minnesota. A memorial can be found on Find A Grave.
1910 - United States Federal Census - In 1910, Samuel Flack is listed as widowed and living in Hardin Township, Greene County Iowa, with his children Clifford, 23, Clarence, 22, and Clara, 17, as well as Katy Flack, the wife of Clarence, 24. The men are listed as farmers. Clara is listed as a housemaid.[2]
1920 - United States Federal Census - In the 1920 U.S. federal census, Clarence E. Flack, 31, is an automobile inspector in Ward 13, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Living with him are his wife, Katherine, 34, and son, Russell P. Flack, 4.[3]
