Biography

Janet Winthrop Baker was born in February, 1911 at The Massachusetts Homeopathic Hospital, Boston (Quincy), Massachusetts. ^[1] She was the 3rd child and daughter of Walter Merrill Baker, and Josephine Augusta (Mandluff) Baker. ^[1]

Married Felton Stetson Bates, 23 Sep 1936 or 1938 at Hanover. ^[2]

Janet was born in Quincy, and lived there the rest of her life:

• 1911 - at birth was living with her parents at 50 Marlboro Street, Quincy, Massachusetts ^[1]
• 1920 - age 8, living with her parents and younger sister Charlotte Baker at 247 Belmont Street, in Quincy Ward 5, Massachusetts ^[4]
• 1930 - age 19, single, living with her parents at 247 Belmot St, Quincy, Massachusetts ^[5]
• 1950 - age 37, married to Felton, living with him and son Winthrope F. Bates, at 180 Jefferson, in Braintree, Massachusetts. ^[6]

She passed away in September, 1973 ^[7] at Weymouth, Massachusetts. She is buried along with her husband Felton, at the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree, Massachusetts ^[8]
