Biography
Mary was one of five children born to Jabez and Sarah (Eyres) White. Her father lists his daughter Mary with married name Ships in his Will dated 1775. Mary is listed as the wife of Joseph Ships and the daughter of Jabez White of Horsham in 'Settlement of Horsham Township' pg 176. Horsham Township is part of Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania until 1784. During that year Philadelphia County was divided and Montgomery County was created. The townships named in the original county retain the same name in the newly created Montgomery County.
