He was a German lawyer and industrialist, serving as the Chairman of the Board of Vorstandsvorsitzender der Gutehoffnungshütte (GHH).
Dietrich von Menges was born on October 26, 1900, and died on June 14, 1994.
He studied law at Göttingen University, where he was a member of the Corps Saxonia Göttingen, the University of Berlin and the University of Königsberg.
After completing his doctorate, he served as a legal advisor at the Berliner Kreditbank and then as a consultant in the Reich Ministry of Economics and Reich Commissioner of the Berlin Stock Exchange. He then went to work for the Ferrostaal, a trading company in Essen that was a subsidiary of Vorstandsvorsitzender der Gutehoffnungshütte.
He was drafted into the German Army, serving from 1939 to 1945, ultimately becoming a Captain of the Reserves and a General Staff office.
After release from captivity as a prisoner of war, he rejoined Ferrostaal in 1945, becoming a member of the Board of Directors in 1947, and Chairman of the Board in 1949. He joined the Board of Directors of Vorstandsvorsitzender der Gutehoffnungshütte in 1961, serving as the Chairman of the Board from 1966 to 1975.
