Jan Smarzyński was born in about 1804, perhaps in or near his marriage place of Schwarzenau (now Czerniejewo, Gniezno, Wielkopolskie, Poland)^[1] He was the son of Jan Smarzyński and Francisca Walkowiak.^[1]

Joannes (age 21), son of Joannes and Francisca Smazynscy, married Josepha Kowalska (age 18) on 20 Nov 1825 in what is now Czerniejewo, Gniezno, Poznań, Poland.^[2][1]

They had 7 children.
