Biography

Anastasia Davis born 20 Apr 1850 at Tinvaun, County Kilkenny, Ireland, daughter of James Davis and Margaret Meagher ^[1]

Sister M. Constantia Moran, inmate, 59 yrs, resided in 1900 in Nazareth Literary & Benevolent Institution, Bardstown, Nelson, KY. ^[2]

All of her siblings either entered a religious order or the priesthood. Thomas, eldest brother, entered the Carmelites and became provincial in Ireland. Richard became a priest of the Diocese of Louisville in Kentucky. Brother James ordained a priest for the Diocese of Dubuque in Carlow on June 21, 1878. ^[3]

Her sisters also entered religious life. One became the superior of Sacred Heart Convent at Sag Harbor, New York, and another, Sr. Sebastian, was a member of the same order in France.
