Emma was born in 1924. She was the daughter of Samuel Platt and Laura Mutton. She passed away in 2010.

Obituary

Emma Jane Hine, 86, of Roanoke, IN, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at 6:45 p.m. at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Hine had worked for General Electric in the 1940s and at the Coil Factory in Roanoke for nine years. She retired in 1987 from Supermarket Services, where she had worked in shipping for 13 years.

She was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Lafayette Township to Samuel Sr. and Laura Ethel Murron Platt. She married Marion S. "Bus" Hine on Feb. 6, 1943, at Camp Livingston, LA. Her husband preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 2006.

Survivors include a son, Randall Hine, of Roanoke; three sisters, Grace Geraldine Siebern, of Churubusco; Lorene Gloria (William) Gregory, of Butler; and Lucille Ilene Stapleton, of Waynedale.

Calling is Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Home, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke.

Preferred memorials are gifts to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home or American Legion Post 160, both in care of Roanoke Memorial Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN 46783.
