Biography

Andrew was born in 1841. He was the son of Milton Perry and Isabella Morrow. He passed away in 1864, a casualty of the war.

Preston was a Sigma Alpha Epsilon Graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He enlisted on October 13, 1861 at Houston, Texas "for the war". On November 16, 1862 he was promoted to Jr. 2nd Lieut. On September 15, 1862 he was detailed at Regimental Post Master. On January 11, 1863 he was captured at Arkansas Post, Arkansas and exchanged in April, 1863. He served with his brothers, Lt. James Samuel Perry (1835-1918) and Sgt. Alvin Peter Perry (1844-1922). Bio by Tim Burgess

• Andrew's date of death coincides with the date of the "Battle of Franklin" at this location. After this battle on 30 November 1864, John McGavock, owner of "Carnton Plantation", collected and buried 1496 Confederate soldiers on this site, also known as "Carnton Plantation Confederate Cemetery , Confederate Cemetery, Franklin, Williamson County, Tennessee". ^[1]
