Biography

Thomas Jeff was born in Camberwell, Surrey, England.

Thomas Oliver Jeff was born in the first quarter of 1873 in Camberwell, Surrey, England to Thomas Jeff and Mary Message Oliver.^[1]

He lived with his parents in Surrey until his marriage.^{[2] [3] [4]} When he was old enough, he worked at various jobs as unskilled labour.

Thomas married Rose Alice Sutton on 24 Apr 1905 at Harlington, Middlesex.^{[6] [7] [8]} They had 12 children.

They initially settled in Harlington to raise their family.^[9]

We do not have his service records but it seems that Thomas was in the Army in World War I as we know that he was awarded service medals. He was in the Army Service Corps with the service number SS/7180 and then the Labour Corps with the service number 298132. He saw service in France and earned the Victory Medal, the British War Medal and the 1914-1915 Star for his service.^{[10] [11] [12]}

After the war they lived in Staines, Surrey where more of their children were born. Finally, they moved to nearby Spelthorne, Surrey. ^[13]

Thomas Oliver Jeff died in the second quarter of 1932 in the district of Uxbridge, Middlesex.^[14]
