Biography

Birth

Jennie J. McConnekin was born in 1855 in Tennessee.^[1][2]

Marriage

She married W.T. McHenry in Rutherford County, Tennessee, on 4 March 1873.^[3] They had three children and were living at 93 South Summer Street in Nashville, Davidson County, by the time of the 1880 census count.^[1]

Later Life

Her husband died before 5 November 1891, when the Rutherford County Court entered an order in the probate litigation relating to his grandfather Silas McHenry Sr.'s estate identifying "all of the lawful heirs" of Silas, including the three children of W.T. McHenry: Willie, Annie, and John, who had apparently moved back to Rutherford County between 1880-1891.^[4][5] All three of the children were still minors on 5 November 1891 and the Court ordered a guardian to represent their interests in that proceeding.^[6]

After 1891, Jennie and children moved to Washington, D.C., where "Jennie J. McHenry," the "wid Wm." and both John and Wm. McHenry appear in the city directory by 1898, living at 810 5th Street NW.^[7]

Death

Jennie J. McHenry died in Washington D.C. on 8 January 1905.^[2]
