Biography
Mary (or Polly) was born about 1779 in Connecticut.
About 1800, Mary married Abner Hitchcock. They had two children.[1]
Abner passed away in 1810.[2] Mary remarried to Daniel Clark about 1812.[3] They had four children.[4]
Mary passed away in 1832.[5]
Research Notes
There is some uncertainty in this profile. CCBronson states that the 'widow of Abner Hitchcock [Mary P.] married Daniel Clark. Since Abner Hitchcock (b-1777) married Mary Warner, we surmise that 'Mary P' was Mary Warner, aka Mrs Mary 'Polly' Hitchcock. But we do not have primary records to prove this.
Also there are disagreements amongst sources on Mary's birth year and death year. FindAGrave (Find A Grave: Memorial #238685285 has birth in 1767 and death in 1829 but admits both are estimates. CCBronson states a death date (used in this profile) and an age at death. Since CCBronson was a contemporary of Mary's and an historian of Tallmadge, Ohio where she lived, this is believed to be accurate.Brownsword-137 20:45, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
