RIN 93fc963c-0097-4166-b049-1f2cb85292bf 1862-1864 Antrim County, Michigan Physical Description: Reuben T. Nichols's account of baptisms he performed in the northwestern corner of Antrim County, Michigan, between 1862 and 1864. META <metadataxml><content><line><p><span style="font-size: small;">In his memoir, <em>The Ministerial Labors of Reuben T. Nichols in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints<em>, Nichols recounts the individuals he healed, baptised, and/or confirmed in New York, Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan between 1838 and 1864.&nbsp; He was first a follower of Joseph Smith, and was ordained by Orson Pratt and Luke Johnson of the Twelve in 1836.&nbsp; After the assassination of Joseph Smith (June 27, 1844), Nichols became persuaded that James J. Strang (and not Brigham Young) was Smith's true successor.&nbsp; In 1846 he was rebaptised and reordained (probably by Strang himself, although that is not clear) at Voree, Wisconsin.&nbsp; There is a lot more to Reuben's story, but for our purposes in this particular piece, it is enough to know that his memoir recounts these baptisms in Antrim County:</span></p></line><line><p style="padding-: 60px;"><span style="font-size: small;"><em>"On the 8th day of November, 1862, I baptised Edward Skinner and his wife Naomi, and James R. Quigly, sr., and Ruth Ann Andress and Roderick Andress.&nbsp; On the 14th day of the same month and year, I baptised George W. Quigly, jr., and Cordelia, wife of George W.
