Biography

Ethel Mae Cauffman was born on 14 June 1895 in Michigan. She was the daughter of John Cauffman and Carrie Rodgers.[1]

In the 1900 census Ethel Coffman (age 3) was the daughter of Carry Coffman in Galien, Galien Township, Berrien, Michigan Territory.[2]

On 27 October 1917, Ethel Cauffman married Clarence C Richards in St. Joseph County, Indiana.[4]

In the 1920 census Ethel M Richards (age 28) was the wife of Clarence T Richards in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana.[5]

By 1930, Ethel (age 34) was the wife of Alva Pritchett in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana.[6]

In the 1940 census Ethel May Pritchett (age 39) was the wife of Alva Pritchett in Danville, Hendricks, Indiana.[7]

Ethel Mae Pritchett, daughter of John Cauffman and Carrie Rogers, died (age 67) on 20 July 1962 in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana.[1] She was buried in Danville South Cemetery, Danville, Hendricks, Indiana.[8]

She had been known as a parachutist who made jumps from hot-air balloons. Her career, between 1924 and 1934, included jumps over Riverside Amusement Park in Indianapolis. [9]
