Edward Niles Pierson, son of Nils Pierson and Maria (Jansdotter) Pierson, was born on November 2, 1889, at 104 Wallace Street in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut, United States.[1][2]
In the 1900 census, Edward, age 11, was enumerated with his parents and three siblings, Parry Clarence, Albert, and Edith, at 85 Hamilton Street in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut.[3] He lived at 85 Hamilton Street through 1911.[4]
Edward was injured in an accident while celebrating Independence Day in 1902 and was mentioned in a newspaper article in the The Morning Journal-Courier on July 5, 1902, in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut.[5]
From 1906 to 1915, Edward worked as a clerk in a railroad office building.[6][7]
In the 1910 census, Edward, age 20, was enumerated with his mother and three siblings at 85 Hamilton Street in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut.[8]
From 1912 to 1928, Edward lived at 187 Clinton Avenue, New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut.[9][10] From 1916 to 1930, he worked as a railroad purchasing clerk at 129 Church Street in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut.[11][12]
Edward was enumerated in Connecticut's World War I military census on February 21, 1917, in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut. He lived at 187 Clinton Avenue and was employed as a clerk. He was 6 feet, 1/2 inches tall and 145 pounds.[13] Edward registered for the World War I draft on June 5, 1917, in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut. He worked as a buyer at Connecticut and Housatonic Power Company. He was described as being tall and slender with blue eyes and light hair.[14]
In the 1920 census, Edward, age 30, was enumerated with his mother and siblings, Parry Clarence and Edith, at 187 Clinton Avenue in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut.[15]
From 1929 to 1952, Edward lived at 181 Clinton Avenue, New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut.[17][18]
In the 1930 census, Edward, age 40, was enumerated with his wife, two children, and sister Edith at 181 Clinton Avenue in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut.[12] In 1932 and 1933, he worked as a clerk at "Ct.Co."[19][20] From 1939 to 1948, he worked as an assistant purchasing agent for the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad.[21][22]
In the 1940 census, Edward, age 50, was enumerated with his wife, two children, and sister Edith at 181 Clinton Avenue in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut, United States.[23]
Edward registered for the World War II draft in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut in April 24, 1942. He lived at 181 Clinton Avenue and worked for the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad. He had blue eyes, blonde hair, and a light complexion. He was listed as 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 140 pounds.[24]
In the 1950 census, Edward, age 60, was enumerated with his wife, son Edward Jr., and sister Edith at 181 Clinton Avenue in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut.[25]
Edward died, age 62, on January 21, 1952, in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut.[26] He was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven, New Haven, Connecticut.[27]
