Biography

Polly was born in 1817, the daughter of Noah Hall and Mary Hall.

She married Joel Hall at Buckfield, Maine on 2 Oct 1837. They were the parents of eight known children.

The 1860 US census for Peru, Maine lists residents Joel Hall (43), a farmer, Mary Hall (43), Virgel [sic] P Hall (21), a 'com. schoolteacher' and student within the past year, Noah Hall (19), a student, Alice J Hall (14), a student, Izora Hall (12), a student, Andrew J Hall (10), a student, and Lilly Hall (2). Joel owns real estate valued at $2500 and has a personal estate of $1105. All were born in Maine.

The 1870 US census for West Peru, Maine lists residents of the household of Joel Hall (52), a farmer, Mary Hall (53), keeping house, Alice Hall (22), at home, Izoria [sic] Hall (21), at home, Andrew J Hall (19), a farm laborer and student, Floretta L Hall (12), a student, Wilbur L Hall (7), a student, Sarah Hall (5), a student and Mary Hall (3). All were born in Maine. Joel owns real estate valued at $4000 and has a personal estate valued at $1500.
