Biography

When Jefferson Slaven was born on 3 July 1847, in Winfield, Scott, Tennessee, United States, his father, Absolom Slaven, was 37 and his mother, Elizabeth J. Woods, was 33. He married Barzilla Phillips on 26 May 1866, in Scott, Tennessee, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 5 daughters. He lived in Scott, Tennessee, United States for about 10 years and Civil District 8, Hardeman, Tennessee, United States in 1900. He died on 16 July 1908, in Huntsville, Scott, Tennessee, United States, at the age of 61, and was buried in Spradlin Cemetery, Bethpage, Sumner, Tennessee, United States.
