Dinah was born on 14 March 1732 in Shrewsbury, Worcester, Massachusetts, a daughter of David Goodenow and Dinah Fay.[1][2]
It appears that Dinah had a daughter prior to her marriage to Solomon Eager. There is a record for Abigail Goodenow, daughter of Dinah Goodenow, who was baptized in Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts on 6 October 1754. No father is named. Dinah's mother, also named Dinah, was close to 50 at the time, so it was more likely to be a child of Dinah the daughter. Plus, if it had been Dinah the mother, certainly the father, David, would have been named in addition to or instead of the mother, as was customary. [3]
Dinah married Solomon Eager on 26 October 1757 in Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts.[4]
Known children are from her husband Solomon's will, which was disallowed as he was deemed to be insane. Children named in the will are: John, James, Sarah, Dinah, Mary, William, Lucy and Elizabeth, not in any particular order.
Interestingly, he also names Abigail Higby wife of Charles Higby, without stating any relationship. Perhaps she was Dinah's daughter.
There is a death of Dinah Eager on 31 August 1788 in Shrewsbury, which seems like it would fit with this Dinah. However, that death is for a different person. It is Dinah Rice, wife of Abraham Eager (per the gravestone).
Dinah Goodenow's date of death is unknown at this time. However, she died before 1797 when her husband re-married.
