James F. Collins, 93, of Indiana, died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born Oct. 8, 1909, in Byrriedale, a son of Thomas and Beulah Henry Collins.

Mr. Collins attended the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Luciusboro. For 30 years he worked as a clerk for the state of Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. He was a member of the Masons and Indiana County Historical Society. Mr. Collins was avid about stamp collecting and researching both sides of his family genealogy, which he dated back to the 1500s.

He is survived by two sons: Ronald and his wife, Johanna, of Courtland, Ohio and Jerry and his wife, Mary Bea, of Las Vegas, Nev.; his loving friend and companion, Sharon Wolford of Indiana; four grandchildren: Rhonda Collins of Columbia, S.C., Jim Collins of Louisville, Ky., John Collins of Burton, Mich., and Jerry Collins of Flint, Mich.; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Collins and his wife, Helen, of Euclid, Ohio; and a special niece, Lena Carol Wiland of Buck Run. Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys Ferrier Collins, in February 1995 and these siblings: Joseph, Hugh and Edgar Lee Collins; Phyllis Frantz; Mae Sapp; Catherine Keshe; Beulah Davis and Mary Bennett.
