FIRST DISTRICT LEADER TAKEN William Green Sullivan died in the 78th year of his life, at his home in the First District, near Jingo, Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the grave in Hudgens cemetery, near Jingo, by Elder Pruett. The deceased had been a minister of the gospel in the Freewill Baptist Church for the past forty years, and was greatly beloved throughout this county. The immense cortege, which followed him to the grave, bespoke eloquently the great esteem in which he was held, by people in all walks of life. He spent his unselfish lifetime in service of his fellow men. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Neta Norton Sullivan; five sons, Judd, Lon D., A. T., J. E., and Oscar, all of this county; three daughters, Mrs. Maggie Pewitt of Nashville, Mrs. W. H. Sullivan of Wood River, Ill., and Miss Bedie Sullivan of Jingo; five brothers, T., Andrew, Gray, Jerry, and Zack Sullivan, all of this county, and three sisters, Mrs. Rainey, Mrs. Mangrum, and Mrs. Givens, of this county. His five sons and Mr. Rainey were pall-bearers. Henry M. Cotton was the funeral director.
