Biography

The daughter of Samuel Jonas Caperton and Missie Frances (McCrory) Caperton, Rosa Caperton was born in Wayne County, Tennessee^{[citation needed]} in 1903, residing with her family in 1910 in Civil District 8, Waynesboro.^[1][2]

Rosa married Marvin Gambrell (1900-1969), the son of James Cypert Gambrell and Laura Huldah Darnell, marrying in Wayne County, Tennessee on October 22, 1922,^[3] having two known children together:

1. Jessie Mae Gambrell (1923-2007)
2. Billie Marlene Gambrell (1931-1932)

They made their home in Wayne County's Civil District 7, working a truck farm.^[4] In 1940, Rosa and her family lived in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; that year, according to the federal census enumeration, her husband did not work at the time of the enumeration and Rosa worked at a shirt factory as a seamstres.^[5] In 1950, residing in Lawrenceburg, Rosa's widowed mother lived with Rosa and her family. Rosa's husband did not work and Rosa worked at the shirt factory as a collar setter.^[6]

Widowed in 1969, Rosa remarried in 1973, marrying Zachariah Haggard Rinks (1899-1985), the son of James Arnold Rinks and Mary Louisa Ella Gambrell and the husband of the late Ollie Ricks and the late Iris Oleta McGarr. Rosa and Zack married in Giles County, Tennessee on September 6, 1973.^[7] Rosa Rinks passed away in Lawrence County, Tennessee{[citation needed}} at the age of 92 and is buried at John Lay Cemetery in Ethridge, Tennessee.^[8]
