Biography

Józef was born in 1886 at Golcowa, in what was then the Austrian kingdom of Galicia, now part of Poland. He migrated to the United States and settled at New Castle, Pennsylvania, the date uncertain. He married Aniela Mrozek in 1913.

In Pennsylvania his name was written Joseph; he later adopted a middle name, Frank. 1920 census showed him, his wife and children lived at Union City, Pennsylvania.

His draft registration card in 1942 showed date of birth as 10 June 1886 but other records show various dates in September and October, 1886. His height was 5 feet 9-1/2 inches, weight 150 pounds. He lived at 18 Fern Street, New Castle and worked at Shenango Tin Mill.

He passed away in 1963. His social security death record showed date of birth was 18 September 1886 and date of death January 1963 - exact date not shown.
