The work of Lucien Warner, The Descendants of Andrew Warner, reports that Sarah Warner (b 22 Mar 1736/7), daughter of Joseph Warner and Sarah (Bartlett), was "probably" the Sarah who married on 29 May 1750 at New Fairfield, Connecticut, to Moses Knapp (New Milford Church records).[1]

The Nicholas Knapp Genealogy reports that Moses Knapp settled at New Fairfield in about 1740-43 and removed to New Milford in 1750 where he married to Sarah Warner.[9]

This would make Sarah about 13 years old marrying Moses at about 45 years old. Not impossible, but unlikely, and as Kenneth R. Brown points out, indeed there was no marriage between Moses and Sarah. In the article for The American Genealogist, Brown points to the marriage on 11 July 1764 between Sarah and Joseph Lake.[3] Prior this date, Sarah signed deeds as "Sarah Warner," proving this was her first marriage.[3]
