Biography

Malinda was born in Guilford County, North Carolina, in 1807 to James and Mary (Field) Parsons. She married Frederick Elliott on 13 Dec 1828 in Guilford County, North Carolina. Frederick took over the mill operated by Malinda's father that was along Deep River, near Jamestown. They had ten children: James, George, Elizabeth, Alexander, Robert, Infant (d.y.), Mary Jane, Thomas, Solomon, and Sarah. After her husband died and the mill and property were sold, Malinda moved with her two minor children to Washington, Indiana, then to Ozark, Missouri. She died in Texas County, Missouri in 1876.
