Biography
- Sir John Mallory, Knight of Studley, Yorkshire, Married Ellizabeth, daughter of Sir William Hamerton, Knight. [1] They had a son, Sir William Mallory, Knight, who married Joan Constable. [2]
"Sir John Mallory of Studley & Hutton Conyers (dvp) Visitation (1563/4) reports that Sir John's wife was either Isabell Carvon/Carvan or Elsabeth, dau of Sir William Hamerton, but Foster identifies her as Elizabeth Curwen (dau of Sir William Curwen. Son - Sir William Mallory of Studley & Hutton Conyers (d 1499) m. Joan Constable of Holderness. His son Sir John Mallory of Studley & Hutton Conyers (d 1527) m1. Margaret or Margery Thwaytes (dau of Edward Thwaytes of York) [3]

Richardson's Magna Carta Ancestry and Royal Ancestry both support Elizabeth Hamerton as William's mother/wife of John. And Isabel is Latin for Elizabeth, right?
