Biography

Edward was born in 1781.

He married Catherine Bogart.

Edward Thorne of Granville wrote his Last Will and Testament, 10 Mar 1837, leaving bequests to his wife Catherine, son Abraham Bogart Thorne, Maria, widow of my son Stephen Rapelye Thorne and granddaughter Elizabeth Sands Thorne (not 18). The will was probated 27 May 1837. ^[1] Edward L. Thorne of Saint John had interest in estate.

He died in 1837 and is buried in the Christ Church Anglican Graveyard, Karsdale, Annapolis Co., Nova Scotia.^[2]

1. Stephen Rapalye, b. 1810, m. 1832, Maria Sands, and had only dau., Elizabeth Sands, b. 1833, m. G. Sydney Smith, Esq. ;
2. Abraham Bogart, b. 1812, m(1) 1836, Elizabeth Dickson, nee Sands, m(2) Elizabeth Kennedy.
