Biography

Marcus Patterson was enumerated as son of the head of household in Township 16 N. Range 26, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory (Oklahoma) for the June 11, United States Census, 1900. He was noted as born February 1891 in Georgia and single. He was noted as farm labor. Also included in the household are head Samuel Patterson, wife Jane Patterson, son James A Patterson, daughter Josie M Patterson, daughter Minnie M Patterson, son Samuel A Patterson and sister (sister-in-law) Araynna Johnson as seen in an image of the original census.[1]

Macurs Patterson was enumerated as son of the head of household at Wauhillau, Adair County, Oklahoma for the April 21, United States Census, 1910. He was noted as born 1891 in Georgia and single. He was a laborer on a home farm as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Sam J Patterson, wife Jane Patterson, son James Patterson, daughter Annie Patterson, daughter Minnie Patterson, son Arthar Patterson, daughter Lara Patterson and daughter Mary Patterson.[2]

Mark Lafette Patterson registered for military service as recorded in this June 5, 1917 United States World War I Draft Registration Card. His birth was listed as February 28, 1891 in Morganton, Georgia. His address was Stierwell, Adair County, Oklahoma and he was a farmer. He was medium height and medium build with blue eyes and black hair as seen in this image of the original form.[3]

Mark L Patterson was enumerated as son of the head of household at Wauhillau, Adair County, Oklahoma for the January 20, United States Census, 1920. He was noted as born 1892 in Georgia and single. He was a laborer (farm) as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Sam J Patterson, wife Cynthia J Patterson, daughter Minnie Patterson, son Aurthur Patterson, daughter Laura Patterson and daughter Mary J Patterson.[4]

As listed in the Find A Grave Index,[5] Pvt Mark L Patterson is buried at Stilwell Cemetery in Stilwell, Adair County, Oklahoma, USA.[6]
