I am a novice at this, but I am researching my maternal line (Myrick/Aderhold) and paternal line (Handy/Congleton). Note the difference between my maiden name of Claspell and my family surname of Handy - long story, my father was raised a Claspell but later discovered that he was actually a Handy. I am also having a go at my husband's maternal line (Mills/Bingham) and paternal line (Wright/Shelton) with a few notable hiccups along the way. Anything I can possibly do to help, feel free to ask!
How's everything going? You might be finding duplicate profiles now. We have a Help Page to help you learn what to do with them. Be sure to check for your pending merges by going to FIND, PENDING MERGES, and sort for those waiting on you. Upon completing a merge, be sure to clean up/edit the Biography as ALL information from both profiles are copied and remove any duplicate info.
If you want updates on surnames you can add them by going to MY WIKITREE, NAV HOME PAGE, scroll down to just below WIKI GENEALOGY FEED to EDIT FOLLOWED SURNAMES. You can add up to 20.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those situations.

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.
