John Auden was born in 1904. He was the son of medical doctor, George Auden and Constance Bicknell. ^[1]

In 1911, John was living with his parents and younger brother in Solihull, Yorkshire. The household employed a governess and two servants. John's father was a medical doctor and a medical superintendent for the education committee in Birmingham. ^[2]

John became a geologist and spent many years in India.

John married at least twice.

On 27th November 1930, John married Margaret Gordon Marshall. The marriage took place in Calcutta, Bengal, India. ^[3]

John and Margaret later divorced.

On 21st February 1940, John married Sheila Bonnerjee. The marriage was held in Calcutta, Bengal. ^[4]

John passed away in 1991 at the age of 87. His death was registered within Kensington and Chelsea districts in Greater London (formerly, Middlesex). ^[5]
