Biography
George Freke was born in the early 1600s in Cerne, Dorset, England, the son of William Freke and his wife Ann Swain, landed gentry.
George Freke was one of many siblings:
- George Freke, born in the early 1600s, and may have died in infancy.
- Arthur Freke, born August 1604, three years prior to the English colonization of Jamestown, Virginia in the "New World" of North America, who married and had five children in Rathberry, County Cork, Ireland.
- Judith Freke, born 1605
- William Freke born 1606
- Elizabeth Freke born 1607, the same year the English colonized Jamestown, Virginia in the "New World" of North America. Elizabeth married Francis Bernard and had two children, including a daughter who married Mr. Beamish.
- Robert Freke, born 1609
- Thomas Freke, born 1610
- Ann Freke, born January 1612
- Alice Freke, born 1614, and passed away in childhood in 1617 at the age of about three years old.
- Margaret Freke born about January 14, 1615
- Captain John Freke born about June 11, 1615 or 1616.
- Mary Freke born October 11, 1618, the year the Thirty Years War began in Europe.
George Freke may have died in infancy as there is no more information. More research is necessary.
