Biography
Mary Ellen was born in 1929, in Tennessee. She married Edison Amos May 28, 1949 at the Methodist Parsonage in Brevard, NC [1].
Mary worked in several jobs to help Edison in school. She was the assistant secretary to the dean of Candler School of Theology at Emory University.
Mary Ellen served in several churches which Edison served over a period of 42 years. She was very active in supporting the mission work of women. She was the hostess for young people in Georgetown, Washington DC. Her total portrait is given in Proverbs 31: 10-31. Mary was an excellent Bible student and her bible is filled with many marks and comments.
Mary Ellen mothered Edison Amos, Dr. Marie Allen Amos Dobyns, and Tori Amos. She died in 2019, in St. Lucie, Florida [2].
