Biography
Mary was born Nov. 4, 1847. She was the daughter of James Harvey Symmonds (1820 - 1902) and Cassandra Newman Symmonds (1823 - 1865). She passed away Oct. 4, 1915, and was buried at Chili Township Cemetery, Hancock County, Illinois.[1]
"My gr-gr- grandfather James Carr married Mary A. Symmonds, 1847-1915. She was the daughter of James Symmonds and Cassandra Newman. James descended from two generations of John Henry Symmonds, the senior coming to America in 1775 from England and fighting with the Americans in the Rev War."[2]
