Biography

Watson was born on August 16, 1891. He is the son of Alsup Vail and Christena Tyler

United States Census History

1900 - Watson is living with his parents Alsup and Christena Tyler, and his sisters, Jessy, Grace, and Francis in Damascus Township, Wayne, Pennsylvania. This census record states that he was born in Pennsylvania and is 9 years old.[1]

1910 - Watson is living with his parents and his sister, Frances in Damascus, Wayne, Pennsylvania. This census record states he is 18 years old and was born in Pennsylvania.[2]

1920 - Watson is living with his parents and his nephew, Paul Snaverly. This record states he is 27 years old and was born in Pennsylvania. [3]

1930 - Watson is the head of the household and lives with his wife, Irma Jane in Damascus, Wayne, Pennsylvania. The record states he has two sons, Charles and John, and a daughter, Ellen. It also states he is 38 years old and was born in Pennsylvania.[4]

1940 - Watson is the head of the household and lives with his wife, Irma Jane in Damascus, Wayne, Pennsylvania. The record states he is living with four sons, Charles, John, Donald, and Robert. It also states he is 48 years old and was born in Pennsylvania.[5]

Watson helped publish a book in 1936 written by his father: Damascus Manor; An Early History of the Upper Delaware Valley.

He married Irma Jane Treverton at some point between 1920 and 1928.

1917 World War 1 Draft Card - Watson's draft card states he is 25 years old living in Damascus, PA. It states that he is a self-employed farmer working in Damascus. It also states he is a single, white male that up to this point had no military service. He is described as tall with a medium build, light blue eyes, and light hair.[6]

1942 WWII Draft Card - Watson lists his full name, including the spelling of his middle name. It states he lives in Damascus, PA and is 50 years old. It also states his mother is Mrs. Jane Tyler, and his employer is the Damascus School Board. He is described as a white male 5'6" tall and 132lbs with hazel eyes, gray hair, and a light, ruddy complexion.[7]

Death

Watson died June 1966 in Damascus, PA.[8][9]
