In 1840, Samuel and Mary headed a large household in Nether Providence, Delaware, Pennsylvania, that included 20 other males and 7 other females (likely related to the quarry that Samuel operated).[5] In 1850, the couple was farming with their children in Nether Providence, Delaware, Pennsylvania.[6]
Samuel died in February 1854. In 1860 and 1870, Mary was living with various children in Nether Providence, Delaware, Pennsylvania.[7][8]
Sometime after 1872, Mary married David Trainer, a widowed businessman from Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
Mary died on April 26, 1878 in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, at the age of 62.[9][10][4] She was buried at Middletown Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Elwyn, Delaware, Pennsylvania.[11]
