Well it has finally been accomplished, I recently located the American Indian in my tree! It's James Reeves b. 1765 in South Carolina. My brothers and nephews and some cousins have become citizens of the Northern Cherokee Nation. What a journey this has been! I welcome descendants of James Reeves to get your documents in order and apply to the Northern Cherokee Nation. I am very proud of our heritage!!!

I saw your comment: Burton-2522 and Burton-1357 do not represent the same person because: The dates are off and therefore, please do not merge these people.

That's a problem, but they are linked to the same wife, Merryman-141... If you're not ready for a merge, can we make them an unmerged match?

Welcome to our community, Kathy. It sounds like you'll make a great WikiTreer. Thanks for volunteering to help grow our worldwide tree. :)

Our Honor Code, G2G forum, help pages, search features, and many other useful links can be accessed from the menus on the upper right corner of most pages.

Please consider stopping by the Tree House to introduce yourself.

VERY IMPORTANT: The more documents, sources, dates, and locations you provide on the profiles you create, the stronger your branches and our mutual global tree will be. If you don't know the correct date, please estimate using before or after.

Thank you for helping in our mission to build a global tree with only ONE profile per person.

Hope you enjoy WikiTree!

Hello Everyone,

I have been researching my ancestors for about 45 years now. It all started because of a step-great grandmother telling me that the wife before her was an Indian, which had me intrigued as an eleven year old. So, now you know how old I am, which is just fine. I thoroughly enjoy this journey to find out where my family came from and what they endured during their travels. I didn't care to much for history as a teenager, but I have learned a lot in the last 30 years. I like to think that I'm a pretty good researcher. I love to find documents that supports my family. I am a member of the DAR, and have helped my brother & his sons join the SAR. I am in the process of applying to the SAR for my husband and son. I am willing to help any way I can. Thank you! Kathy
