Phoebe was born about 1818 in Ireland. She was married with 3 children before coming to Canada with her husband Benjamin L. Griffith and his family. They settled in Oneida township, Haldimand, Canada West and they added 4 more children, making a total of seven. Her husband was a labourer, and then a farmer.[1][2][3]
Phoebe passed away and was buried May 16, 1874 in St. John's Anglican Cemetery in York, Haldimand, Ontario. Gravestone inscribed with " wife of B L Griffith".[4] (Her husband and youngest son Frank are buried together in Hagersville Cemetery, Haldimand).
