Jesse William Abel was born on October 23, 1920 in Erie, Erie, Pennsylvania, United States and was the son of Jesse and Theresa .Abel. Jesse died on May 11, 1995 in Austin, Lander, Nevada, United States, aged 74.

He had previously lived in Idaho and Arizona and had only been residing in Kingston, Nevada for the past year. He also resided in Reno from 1945-1987.

Until 1977, Jesse had been a Reno Policeman and Washoe County Deputy Sheriff. Following those careers, he became Chief Investigator for the Washoe Public Defender's Office.

Jesse married Winifred E. (Wilson) Streeter on 20 Jan 1975 in Virginia City.^[1]

In the 1940 census Jesse (age 19), Salesman, was the single son of Jesse Abel in Erie, Erie, Pennsylvania.^[2]
