Biography

Theres Abenthum was born about 1751, likely in Bayern. She married Ulrich Schwickart about 1777. They settled in Pflaumdorf (by 1812, they were in No. 10), and had several children: Johannes, Ulrich, Franziskus, Maria Anna, and Kreszens.

Her husband, Ulrich, died on 6 November 1816.^[1] Theres died at 10 p.m. on 25 October 1837 of a stroke, at about 86 years old, and was buried at 9 a.m. on 28 October.^[2]

Birth year estimate from death record, and assumes she was at least 16 years old upon the birth of her first child in 1777.

There is a birth record for a Theresia Abenthum on 31 December 1750 at Dettenschwang, but this hasn't been validated to be her; neither has a marriage record been located. Parishes where the Abenthum surname has been recorded between 1700-1800 are Dettenschwang, Issing, Ludenhausen, and Thaining.
