Biography

Rebecca C. Abney was born on February 9, 1796, in Kentucky, her father, Joshua Abney , was 25, and her mother, Patsy Phelps, was 35.

She married John Chancellor on August 5, 1812, in Butler, Kentucky. They had eight children in 19 years. She died on September 26, 1855, in Clark, Illinois, at the age of 59, and was buried in Martinsville, Illinois.
