Biography

Liusetta was born in 1844. She was the daughter of Alvah Adams and Abigail Ball. She passed away in 1905.

Research notes

In 1850 an Alva H. Adams (30, b. IN, farmer) headed a household in Jackson, IN (Parke County) with Abigail Adams (31, b. OH), Isaiah T. Adams (9, b. IN), James A. Adams (8, b. IN), L. Ann Adams (6, b. IN), Tilghman H. Adams (4) and Rachel A. Adams (1). I was looking at a very faded copy of the census and the data base listed a number of corrupted names.

In 1860 Alvah Adams (41, b. IN, farmer) was a head of household in Adams, IN (Parke County) with Abigail Adams (42, b. OH), Isaiah Adams (19, b. IN, farmer), James Adams (17, b. IN, farmer), Lucitta Adams (15, b. IN), Tilghman Adams (13, b. IN), Rachael Adams (11, b. IN), David Adams (9, b. IN), Jasper Adams (4, b. IN), and Martha Adams (2, b. IN).

In 1870 Evan McLain (45, b. OH, farmer) was head of household in Union, MO (Worth County) with Lucittie McLain (26, b. IN), Lucy McLain (13, b. MO), Clarinda McLain (11, b. MO), Alice R. McLain (8, b. IL). A James Holland (25, b. KY, farmer) headed a household two households down the list and a Robert McClain (38, b. OH) headed the previous household to Evan's. Lucy, Clarinda, and Alice would probably be too hold to have been Liusetta's children.

In 1900 James Holland (b. 1844 in KY, farmer, both parents b. KY) headed a household in Clinton, IA (Ringgold County) with with Lucetta W. Holland (b. Jul 1844 in IN, married 18 years, 6 children with 2 living, father b. IN, mother b. OH) and son Jesse F. Holland (b. Nov 1883 in IA, farm laborer, father b. KY, mother b. IN).

A Eula McClain (1870-1881) is buried in Honey Grove Cemetery in Grant City, MO (Worth County).
