William Leonard Addington was born on 13 Nov 1794 at Reading, Berkshire, England.
He was the son of Henry Addington P.C. and Ursula Hammond.
Education
He was educated at Westminster School London, a public school in the precincts of Westminster Abbey.
Then at Christ Church, Oxford University. He matriculated 20 Oct 1812. He was aged 17. [1]
In 1821 he was the Rector of Poole, Wiltshire, England, United Kingdom.
He became the 2nd Viscount Sidmouth on the death of Henry Addington 1st Viscount Sidmouth in 1844.
Rev. William Leonard Addington, 2nd Viscount Sidmouth (1794-1864) gave up the rectory of Poole (Wiltshire) and built a new house at Upottery in 1845-46 to the designs of the otherwise almost unknown Samuel Greig, who was probably based in Exeter. Upottery Manor became the seat of subsequent generations of the family, [2]
