Stone also shows his birth date to be October 13, 1845, but this doesn't match up with information contained on the 1850 and 1860 censuses, and my reasoning at this time is that a parent would know if his/her child was closer to 2 or 5... 1 1

Akin died suddenly from heart failure in the yard of his home in this city at 1:30 o'- clock Monday April 18th, at the age of 76 years 6 months and 1 day. Funeral services were held at the family residence on Tuesday conducted by Rev J C Morris assisted by Rev E F Hardin. Interment in Oaklawn cemetery, in charge of C. F. Coonrod. Mr Akin was born in the state of Missouri and moved to Arkansas from which state he came to Oklahoma, moving to Wynnewood eight years ago. He was the father of eight children, three of whom yet survive him, Mrs. Vic Poole of this city, Alice Akin, of Oklahoma City, and Susie Hollingshead of Holdenville. He is also survived by his wife.
