Carl DeMoss Akin was born on July 31, 1918, in Louisville, Jefferson, Kentucky, United States, son of James Harlan Akin (1885–1970) and Nellie Creason (1892–1971).[1]
Bud (age 20) married Mabel Iona Ford (age 20); daughter of Andrew Jackson Ford (1874-1933) and Nellie Emma Fishback (1881-1945); on November 4, 1939, in Louisville, Jefferson, Kentucky, United States.[4] They had the following children:
Bud (age 22) signed up for the World War II draft on October 16, 1940. He was described as 5'10", 170 lbs. with brown hair and blue eyes. Employment was listed as work for Art Ridley Electric Co.[6]
Bud died on February 6, 2001, in Louisville, Jefferson, Kentucky, United States, aged 82.[8][9] He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky.[10]
