Catharina Maria Albers was born on 23 July 1843 in Kotten Vollerbenhof Drees, Pye, Osnabrück, Hannover, Deutscher Bund, daughter of Jürgen Henrich Albers (1814–1891) and Maria Elisabeth (Rose) Albers (1809–1880).^[1] She was baptised in the catholic church St. Alexander in Wallenhorst on 27 July 1843.^[1] Her godmother was Colona Catharina Maria Albers, and her baptismal witnesses were Colona Catharina Maria Schöler and Colon Joseph Becker, all residing in Pye.^[1]
