Research Notes
Christening (3 MAY 1709) Middleborough, Plymouth, Province of Massachusetts Bay
Many people believe that Thankful died after Jabez was born and that Francis Eaton remarried and had several more children recorded in Middleboro during the 1730s and 1740s. Only Joseph and Jabez have enough documentation to be accepted by the Alden Kindred, the others need more documentation. So they are not officially accepted or connected in here, as they are for Francis.
The records of the other children are of Francis and Lydia in Middleboro.
The King Genealogy by Rufus King, pub. 1948 has note of Elijah Eaton marrying and having Salona Eaton who married Joseph P. Fobes. Also John Eaton marrying and having 2 ch. Eliphaz and Jairez who married and had Sophia Eaton who married Joseph B. Farnsworth. (Rufus King's incomplete information comes from his grandmother Caroline (Eaton) King who is granddaughter of Joel Eaton (Joseph Eaton, Thankful Alden, John, Joseph, John).)
:Named in 1750 Division of brother, Ebenezer Alden's Estate
If the Thankfull mentioned in Ebenezer Alden's estate is his sibling (like all the rest of his beneficiaries seem to be), then she was still alive in 1750 and married to an Eaton. But this may be a bequest to her name sake. More research is needed to identify or eliminate other Francis Eatons.
